Living Independent Skills





This is a program for 15 to 19 year olds, some of which are living at home with their parents or young people living in alternative arrangements. The purpose of this program is to prepare young people for living on their own, some of the topics offered are: the rentalsmans act (the responsibility and expectations when renting), how to apply for Identification cards, opening a bank account, nutrition, budgeting, health issues and many other topics of interest directed by the group. This program is accessible by self-referral, school referrals and many other avenues of access. Supper and transportation is provided and is a 10-week program on Tuesday nights. Please contact for information on the next start date. There is no fee for this program. Christine Racic (certified teacher) and Gwen Knoll (Social Worker facilitates this program.
